Frequently Asked Questions - Clients

Mental health refers to a person’s overall psychological well-being and the state of their emotional, cognitive, and social functioning. It encompasses an individual’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and their ability to cope with the daily challenges of life, navigate relationships, and adapt to changes.Mental health influences how we think, feel, and act, and it plays a vital role in determining our overall quality of life.

Good mental health involves finding a balance between our emotional, psychological, and social well-being, and it enables us to handle stress, make positive choices, maintain healthy relationships, and fulfill our potential.

One way people find this balance is by working with a mental health counselor, coach, therapist, medical professional, or adjacent professional. Two of the most common ways people manage their mental health is through therapy or medication management.

Anybody can benefit from therapy. Therapy is talk-centered where you will work with a professional to understand your life experiences, relationships, thoughts, and feelings.Stellar Pro is focused on connecting people to qualified mental health professionals including coaches, counselors, therapists, medical professionals, and adjacent professionals.

Therapy is not just for individuals. Couples of all relationship dynamics can benefit from couples therapy.

Therapy can help with a wide range of issues. Therapy can effectively treat conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and grief, helping individuals develop coping strategies and resilience. It is also instrumental in addressing relationship issues, communication problems, and family conflicts, fostering healthier connections and understanding. Additionally, therapy can aid in managing and improving self-esteem, body image, and self-confidence, promoting self-awareness and personal empowerment.

By no means are these all of the issues therapy can help with. This short list is meant to give you a general idea of what issues therapy can help with.

Medication management refers to the process of safely and effectively using medication to treat and manage health conditions. It involves various aspects, including prescribing, administering, monitoring, and adjusting medication as needed. Medication management is typically conducted by healthcare professionals, such as doctors, psychiatrists, or pharmacists, in collaboration with the individual receiving the medication.

Sometimes our brains are formed differently and need a bit of extra help. Needing medication is not a sign of weakness.

Seeing a mental health professional is for anybody who is having trouble navigating through life’s obstacles and challenges. You might be seeking out somebody who understands your sexuality or relationship dynamic and want a judgment-free place to express that. Perhaps you are looking for medication management. No matter your reasons for seeing a mental health professional, you and your Stellar Pro will work together to improve your quality of life and help you be unapologetically you.

Stellar Pro is a directory focused on connecting you with a qualified and knowledgeable mental health professional. These professionals include: counselors, coaches, therapists, medical professionals, and adjacent professionals.

Stellar Pro does have clinicians who take insurance. You will have to call the provider’s office to verify that they take your insurance.

During the sign-up process for professionals, they are required to upload copies of their credentials. These are then verified by staff at Stellar Pro. Once we have verified a professional’s credentials, we assign a badge to their profile to showcase and highlight their expertise.

We’re sorry that there are no professionals in your area with the specific expertise you’re looking for. This is especially common in more rural areas for niche expertise. Some tips we recommend to ensure you find a professional:

  • Expand your search radius
  • Consider telehealth
  • Conduct a general internet search to find a professional with [ABC] certification

We are constantly reaching out to professionals to share all the benefits they can receive from joining Stellar Pro. We want to make sure everybody is able to find a mental health professional for their unique mental healthcare needs. No matter where they are located.
