Let’s be honest-therapy is uncomfortable! There’s no getting around that squirmy “I can’t believe I have to tell this stranger my problems” feeling. The only way to make progress is to move through those feelings. I am here to be by your side and guide you through the numerous emotions that come up in session. I admire my clients for their ability to face the challenges of therapy with veracity, strength, and sometimes humor. I’m here to make the therapy process marginally less uncomfortable by providing a safe, non judgmental space.

How I can help you

I utilize a combination of EMDR, IFS, and Acceptance and Commitment therapy during sessions. I take a warm, humorous approach to sessions and strive to be trauma-informed during every appointment. I received my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an addictions specialization from Lipscomb University. I received a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology with minors in Forensic Anthropology and Archaeology from Middle Tennessee State University. I currently serve as a volunteer on the board for the Academy for Eating Disorders (AED).

Typical first meeting

I typically go through an intake appointment and ask general questions about why you are seeking services and I allow clients time to ask me any questions they may have so they feel comfortable with me. I am a huge advocate for clients feeling comfortable and safe with their therapist and it is imperative they think we are a good fit for them in order to go deeper into their sexuality, trauma journey, or parts work. I give clients room to share as much or as little as they would like during the appointment because I know I am a new person and it will take time to build trust in the relationship.

What I specialize in

I specialize in sex therapy and work closely with the LGBTQIA and BDSM communities. Many people are intrigued by sex, but talking about it makes them cringe. My goal is to normalize your unique experience and work to improve your relationship with your body and sexuality. Everyone deserves pleasure-I can help you get there. I work with teens and adults and am skilled in working with those struggling with addiction, OCD, eating disorders, perfectionism, and trauma. I have numerous trainings in evidence-based approaches related to these disorders. Now offering ketamine assisted psychotherapy for those that are interested.
